Hadrian's Wall

This information was posted at this particular part of Hadrian's wall (north of Hexham Abby, about the middle of the country between east and west if you're looking on a map). The diagram shows an actual settlement next to the wall. It was small, but had houses, town hall and store house for grain. The dark black line shows the placement of the wall itself. Hadrian's wall was built in 122AD and spanned 73 miles from east to west in northern England. It is actually south of the Scottland border about 40-45 miles I think. In many places the wall is non-existent, but to see this part, intact, built 1883 years ago was more than the mind can fathom. Researching the history of just that settlement from 122AD to now would take volumes! Posted by Hello
